Chest Hair Removal

The chest hair removal article below will give you a brief overview of options available for hair removal. There are more in depth articles on this site for each type of hair removal for men and women as well.

I personally dig chest hair on men, but I get that some people don't like it and many athletes and body builders eliminate chest hair as well. You always have the option of learning to love your chest hair and do some light trimming with clippers, too. :)

Chest Hair Removal Options

While many women find chest hair on men to be attractive, overkill can also become a problem. If you want to shed unwanted hair from your chest, then you have several options to choose from. Each chest hair removal technique has pros and cons, so it's crucial to weigh them before making your final decision.

Shaving

If you want a cheap and convenient method to remove hair from your chest, then you could choose shaving as an option. It's inexpensive since all you really need is a quality shaving cream or gel, and a pivoting razor with multiple blades. When choosing the shaving cream or gel, consider selecting one that's specifically designed for body shaving.

The process is convenient since you can do it from the privacy of your own home and when you have time. For those who don't want to spend a lot of time and sessions at salons and clinics, then shaving is definitely the best option.

The main drawbacks of this method are that you'll experience skin irritation due to the shaving, and your chest will get itchy once the hair on your chest starts to grow back. That definitely will create an uncomfortable situation.

Waxing

When most of us think of waxing hair removal, the first word that comes to mind is: ouch! The process involves coating a section of your chest with wax, and then using a fabric to remove

hundreds of hairs with one clean swipe. While pain is definitely part of the process, it's affordable and effective.

Another drawback of this method (besides pain) is that you'll have to repeat it periodically, after the hair starts growing back. So this method is OK for you if you don't mind making excruciating pain a part of your life.

Finally, when choosing DIY waxing or salon waxing-the latter is generally a safer and more effective option. The technicians there have the equipment and knowledge to get the job done right.

Laser

This is definitely one of the most effective chest hair removal methods in terms of the amount of pain that it causes, and its effectiveness. It's significantly less painful than waxing, and much more effective than shaving.

That's the good news. The bad news is that laser hair removal has a steep price. Each session will cost roughly $100, but keep in mind that the chest region is fairly large. So you could easily shell out about $400 for the first round of treatment. And to permanently remove the hair from your chest, you could easily need 4-6 treatments. So to remove the hair on your chest forever, the total price tag could be $1,600-$2,400.

Basically, you have to determine if the price of laser hair removal is worth the result. While you'd have to undergo shaving and waxing time and time again, after zapping the hair follicles on your chest they're gone forever. Yes, the price tag is steep, but it's a worthwhile investment if you can afford it.

So there you have it! These are the three main methods for removing unwanted chest hair. Determine which one best meets your needs and budget.
