If you develop Hyperpigmentation then it is basically just like getting a tan. It occurs when the laser beam activates the production of melanin. The good news is that it is reversible. Hypopigmentation on the other hand is not reversible. It occurs when the laser beam inhibits the production of melanin which causes he skin to lose some of its colour. This will typically occur more frequently in darker skinned patients than those with lighter skin.

All good clinics will give you a free consultation in which you will discuss whether or not you are an ideal candidate. It would be a good idea to ask to see pictures of previous laser hair removal treatments they have done to see what kind of results you can typically expect.
