How to Shave a Man's Private Region in 10 Easy Steps
Did you know that hair in your private parts (along with underarm hair) isn't really necessary? By removing the hair in that region, you can reduce the amount of perspiring that occurs there. You can also reduce the amount of bacteria buildup that forms in the hairs-which will in turn reduce the unpleasant odor that can form there. But the key is to cut the hair carefully and safely. This will help to avert various problems, such as ingrown hairs and small cuts. Here are some basic steps to help you accomplish your mission:
Step 1: Pick a quality shaving cream or gel.
You'll want to select a quality gel or shaving cream. It's crucial that you select a shaving cream or gel that is specially designed for body shaving. These products work by first softening the follicles of hair, which will make the shave much smoother. And you should definitely avoid using soap, or worse-performing a dry shave.
Step 2: Chose a quality razor
Knowing which razor and blades NOT to use is just as important as knowing which ones you should use. Avoid using electric razors. Also, avoid using straight, inexpensive blades. Using these razors and blades could result in small cuts. Instead, use a razor with multiple blades and a rotating head. This will help to give you a clean and close shave. That's a good thing!
Step 3: Trim down the hair.
First, lay a comb flat atop the skin, and then use clippers (shortest guard) or scissors to trim down the hairs as close as possible. The more hair you cut, the easier it will be to use the razor later.
Step 4: Take a warm bath or shower.
Do this for a minimum of 10 minutes. Applying the heat will cause the hair follicles to loosen up, and the skin to become softer.
Step 5: Exfoliate (remove dead skin cells).
Use a body wash or a mild exfoliator in your pubic region. Doing this will help to remove dead skin cells and provide a much closer shave.
